Kelly’s Five Favorite VanTrease PACE Events

“Fiddler on the Roof” in March 2005“The first truly collaborative musical where professionals and students worked side-by-side in every aspect of the production—actors on stage, musicians in the pit, and stagehands behind the scenes. The show was not only a powerful learning experience, but an extraordinary production that audiences talked about for years.”

Any TCC Music Department Concert or Theater Production “With a role spanning both Facility Management and Academics, I’ve had the privilege of getting to know many students personally and watching their artistic growth over time. Seeing their confidence, versatility, and professionalism deepen with each performance has been one of the most rewarding parts of my work at TCC.”

Signature Symphony’s “Christmas in Tulsa” concert every year since 1996 “Amid the controlled chaos of the Fall semester’s end, this annual concert has long signaled the start of the holiday season for me. One standout tradition was former conductor Larry Dalton inviting audience requests, often 14 or more, and then flawlessly performing meaningful excerpts from memory. It is always a crowd favorite and incredibly impressive.”

TCC Nurse Pinning every semester“Over the past 30 years, I’ve helped coordinate approximately 50 Nurse Pinning ceremonies. Each one is a reminder of the dedication and compassion these graduates bring to our community. It’s an honor to play even a small role in sending these healthcare heroes into the world.”

“Mary Poppins” in July 2019 by Craft Productions Oklahoma “The first external client in the PACE was Theatre Arts with their production of “Peter Pan” starring Shari Lewis. The company went on to produce great musicals such as “Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” with Sam Harris, “Annie” starring Kathryn Zaremba, and “Oliver” with Jamie Farr (and so many more) in our theater. While the company name changed, the quality of the shows did not. Shari and Craft Productions brought native Tulsan Cody Davis back from New York City to play Bert.”
